Early Life

Conan was born in Wayland, Norfolk in 1918 and was the son of William Frampton Carter (an engineer from Plymouth) and Maggie Louise Carter (nee Turner). He was married to Gwyneth Jones in 1939 and they lived in Caterham.

World War 2

Details of Conan's life in the RAF have proved difficult to find. His service number was 566959 and he died on active service at Redhill County Hospital on 29 December 1945 (possibly from illness). He was cremated at Croydon Crematorium in Surrey.
